Death
CONCORD — Fred Hampton Furr, #4, of 3939 Cline School Road, died on Aug. 5, 1989, at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. The funeral was to be held at 11 a.m. today at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Brent Nichols. Burial was to be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 4500 Rimer Road, Concord, N.C. 23025. Born on Sept. 21, 1904, in Concord, Furr was a son of the late Wade H. and Kate Rowe Furr. A retired carpenter, Furr was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and the Patriotic Order of Sons of America. Survivors include three sisters, Gladys Turner of Mount Ulla, Nell Rogers and Nan Furr, both of Concord.Endnotes
