Death

Mr. Francis Scott Furr, age 70, of South Hill, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Crowder Furr of South Hill; two sons and daughter-in-law, Steven and Deborah Furr of Chesterfield and Paul H. Furr of South Hill; one daughter and son-in-law, CiCi and Robby Carroll of Ebony; four grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving is one brother, Edward E. "Eppie" Furr of Eufaula, Ala.; two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Miller of Phoenix, Ariz. and Nancy Furr Boyd of Richmond Hills, Ga. Mr. Furr was preceded in death by two brothers, Hugh Jackson Furr Jr. and James Homer Furr. Mr. Furr was a lifetime member of the Southside Rescue Squad, where he previously served as captain. He was also a member of South Hill United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home. The family requests memorial considerations be directed to Southside Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 546, South Hill, Va. Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
