CONCORD — Ralph Cyris Furr, 78, 52 Roberta Road, Wednesday (Dec. 13, 1995), Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. Born Jan 1, 1917, in Stanly County, Furr is a son of the late Jonah L. and Daisy Kiser Furr. Retired from Cannon Mills Co., he was employed by CutRite Upholstery for 14 years. A member of First Evangelical Methodist Church, Kannapolis, he was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. His wife, Jeanette Kennedy Furr, died Dec. 8, 1983. Survivors include son Ralph C. Furr Jr., New London; daughters Susan Winters, North Wilkesboro, Janet Gray, Kannapolis, and Lori Proffitt, Concord, brothers Ernest “Curley” Furr, Fayetteville, and K.C. Furr, Carolina Beach; sisters Helen Furr, Charlotte, Hilda Beaver, China Grove, and Blanch Mason and Lois Furr, both of Concord; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, First Evangelical Methodist Church, Kannapolis, conducted by the Rev. Billy Carey and the Rev. Brian Hammond. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial at Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Hartsell Funeral Home.
