Death
Funeral services for Stanly County native Walter Fifus, (Babe), Furr, 72, of Rocky River Church Road, Concord, were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Rocky River Presbyterian Church, where he served as sexton. Rev. Joseph Hayes, Rev. C. F. Fisher, and Rev. Eugene Boelte officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mr. Furr died Thursday at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. He a son of the late Jonah and Jennie) Love Furr of Stanly County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Smith Furr; three daughters, Mrs. Daisy Kindley and Mrs. Martha Barbee of Concord: and Mrs. Shirley Honeycutt of Albemarle; three sons, William Furr of Huntersville, J. W. Furr of Concord, Mitchell Furr of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Blanche Mason and Miss Lois Furr of Concord, Miss Helen Furr, of Charlotte and Mrs. Hilda Beaver of China Grove; brothers Flave Furr of Harrisburg, Ernest Furr of Fayetteville, Glenn Furr, Ralph Furr, Homer Furr and K.
