Death

MOUNT PLEASANT - Mitchell Subrone Furr, 66, of 1493 Mount Pleasant Road W., died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at the residence. Family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Shoemake and the Rev. Todd Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Cabarrus Memorial Gardens in Concord. Mr. Furr was born in Cabarrus County on Feb. 20, 1940, to the late Walter "Babe" Furr and the late Louise (Smith) Furr. He was a retired fixer at Shogren Hosiery and was a member of Harrisburg Church of God. The family meeting place will be at 1493 Mount Pleasant Road W., Mount Pleasant. In addition to his parents, Mr. Furr was preceded in death by his brothers, William Furr and J.W. Furr; and his sisters, Martha Barbee and Shirley Huneycutt. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Jane (Page) Furr, of the home; daughters, Daphne (Furr) Kingsland and husband, Phillip, of Concord, Louise (Furr) Allmon and husband, James, of Mount Pleasant, Tamera (Furr) Hatley and husband, Wayne, of Mount Pleasant, Marie (Furr) Culp and husband, Tim, of Mount Pleasant and Penny (Furr) Smith and Jeff of Mount Pleasant; sister, Daisy Kindley of Harrisburg; and grandchildren, Andrew Kingsland, Mitchell Wayne Hatley, Matthew Kingsland, Braxton Culp, Magan Smith, Adam Culp, Janie Hatley and Kaitlin Culp. Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Furr.
