Death
Cora Elizabeth Barbee, 96, of 166 Union St. N., Concord, died at 10:10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 1996, in Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. Her funeral was to be at 2 p.m. today with a 30-minute state in Roberta Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Steve Pennington was to officiate and burial was to be in the church cemetery. Born May 2, 1900, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Minnie Elizabeth Crayton Furr and was a homemaker. She was married to the late Crone G. Barbee. Surviving are two daughters, Peggy Smith and Louise Easley, both of Concord; a son, Ray Barbee of Kannapolis; a brother, Floyd Furr of Concord; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grand-children; and four great-great-grandchildren.
