FURR, Kennon Stroud, 89, retired IRS analyst, of Wimberley, formerly of Austin, died Tuesday. Survived by wife Jeraldene. Visitation 7 p.m. today, Thomason Funeral Home, Wimberley. Kennon Stroud Furr, 89, a resident of Wimberley, TX for over 20 years, passed away in San Marcos, TX on Tuesday, August 3rd. Mr. Furr was born in Boerne, TX on July 17, 1921 to Walter and Emma (Stroud) Furr. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. He was a Purple Heart recipient. He married the love of his life, Jeraldene Jones, on January 20, 1951 in Junction, TX. Mr. Furr and his family resided for many years in Austin, TX, where he worked for the I.R.S. Mr. Furr is survived by his loving wife of over 59 years, Jeraldene; son, Lory Furr, and his wife, Ruby, of Austin, TX; daughter, Susan Whitton, and her husband, Anson, of College Station, TX; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 5th at the Church of Christ in Wimberley, TX. Mr. Furr was interred at the Wimberley Cemetery. The Thomason Funeral Home in Wimberley was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
