Per Gene Gaddy: He served in the Army during World War II. He retired from Hornes Ship Building in Newport News, Virginia, where he worked as a mechanic. He was very much like his father in the fact that he loved to fish and hunt. I have many memories of the times he took me on the fishing and hunting outings, during my early teenage years.

FURR, Walter Craig, 65, of 24 Glendale Road, Newport News, died Monday, April 22, 1985, in Riverside Hospital. Survivors include his wife, two daughters, two sisters, four grandchildren. Graveside service 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 1985, in Floral Garden Park Cemetery, High Point, N.C. (W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home is in charge.)
