Death
Mrs. Nellie Shockley, 52, of 315 East North Street, died Thursday about 3 a.m. in the Stanly County Hospital following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Lefler Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. James R. Faggart. Interment will be in the Norwood Cemetery. The body was to remain at Lefler Funeral Home where the family was scheduled to receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The family will make its headquarters at the Roy Marbry home on Route 1, Albemarle. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers. Daughter of Mrs. Georgia Henderson Furr of Norwood and the late Davidson C. Furr, she was twice married, first to Reece Gaddy and secondly to Charles W. Shockley, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Eugene D. Gaddy of Raleigh, one grandson; and three sisters, Mrs. Roy Marbry of Route 1, Albemarle, Mrs. Bill Curlee of Norwood and Mrs. Leon Gallman of Charlotte.
