Death

HIGH POINT —Clara Culp Furr, 80, of 1716 Huntington Circle, died Friday at High Point Regional Hospital. The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church. The Rev. Glenn L. Myers and the Rev. Lloyd Hunsucker will officiate. Interment will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. A native of Stanley County, Mrs. Furr was the daughter of Floyd Oscar and Pattie Miller Culp and was the widow of Walter C. Furr. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Joyful Sounds Band and the Young at Heart. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and George Herring of Snow Hill and Helen “Beth” and Albert Worley of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Pattie Jean Sink of Salisbury; three half-sisters, Tootsie Harris of Burlington, Peggy Harkey of Fayetteville and Gwynn Culp of Badin; three brothers, Allen Culp and Richard Culp both of Badin and Carl Culp of Albermarle; three half-brothers, Johnny Culp and Pete Culp both of Badin and Claude Culp of Greensboro; and five grandchildren, Byron Herring, Craig Herring, Matthew Worley, Daniel Worley and Sarah Beth Worley. The family will receive friends tonight at Sechrest Funeral Home from 7 until 8:30.
