Death
Thomas Eugene Furr, age 77, of 122 Sweetbriar Drive, Danville died Friday August 10, 2012 at Danville Regional Medical Center. He was born November 07, 1934 in Burlington, NC to the late Robert Franklin Furr and the late Della Hardy Furr. Mr. Furr married the late O'Beria Hankins Furr in earlier years then later married Darlene Walker Furr. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was a member of the Men's Ministry and Sunday School. After serving in the US Army he went to work for Dupont Martinsville as a Machine Operator until he retired. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters; Patsy C. Harris of Lewisville, NC and Sandra Satterwhite of Stone Mountain, GA: one son Ray Walker of Danville: three sisters; Virginia Coleman, Doris Furr and Frances Cook and husband Bill all of Danville: two brothers Owen "Bootie" Furr and wife Ezetta of Charlottesville, VA and Freddy Furr and wife Peggy of Danville: five grandchildren: three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and first wife he was predeceased by two sons; Riley Compton and Gary Walker: two brothers; Robert H. Furr and Franklin Furr and one grandson. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Norris Funeral Services, Inc. West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave. Danville, VA 24541 with the Rev. Myron Bruce officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, VA. The family will receive friends 1:30 pm-2:30 pm Sunday August 12, 2012 at Norris Funeral Services, Inc. West End Chapel prior to the service and other times at the residence 122 Sweetbriar Drive, Danville. Memorial donations may be made to the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1810 North Main St. Danville, VA 24540. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. and Crematory, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave. Danville is serving the Furr family.Danville and Rockingham County from August 11 to August 12, 2012
