Death
Funeral services for Mrs. Della Hardy Furr will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Ray W. Chamberlain. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Mrs. Furr, 67, of 830 Glendale, Ave., died yesterday morning at her home. She had been seriously ill since last Wednesday when she suffered a stroke. She was born Aug, 19, 1902, in Pittsylvania County, a daughter of the late Jessie Robert Hardy and Annie Owen Hardy. All of her life was spent in the Brosville and Danville area, and she was a member of Brosville Methodist Church. Mrs. Furr married Robert Franklin Furr on Nov, 29, 1923, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Virginia F. Coleman, Mrs. Doris Wheatley, and Mrs. Frances Thompson, all of Danville; three sons Owen L. Furr of Charlottesville, Thomas E. Furr and. Frederick S. Furr, both of Danville; three sisters, Mrs. Mary H. Parrot of Danville, Mrs. Mabel Hobbs of Altavista, and Mrs. Maggie Morton of Norfolk; six brothers, W. Elbert Hardy of Brosville, Harold E. Hardy and Martin Hugh Hardy, both of Newport News, Charlie T. Hardy of Hampton, Jessie R. Hardy of Richmond, and Bernard Louis Hardy of Danville; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 830 Glendale Ave.Danville Register and Bee, Danville, Virginia, January 25, 1970
