NEW LONDON -- Rayvon Elbert Furr, 88, died May 4, 2007. Funeral 11 AM Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home-Lefler Mem. Chapel. Visitation 3-5 PM Sunday at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. Burial in Bethel UMC Cemetery. Published in the Charlotte Observer on 5/6/2007.Rayvon Elbert Furr, age 88, of New London, N.C., died Friday, May 4, 2007, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, N.C. Mr. Furr retired from Tarheel Sportsman and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Mr. Furr attended Albemarle High School. He played the drums professionally. The family will meet at the home, 812 Austin Rd. Albemarle, NC A very special thanks to Lyn Nash Mullis with Hospice for her loving care and attention. He served in the Army during World War II. He was the son of the late Prince Furr and the late Carrie (Byrd) Furr. He is survived by his wife Mildred Thompson Furr of the home. One Daughter, Daughter-Debra F. Macey of Deep Gap, N.C. One Son, Son-Tommy and Lynn Furr of Charlotte, N.C. One Brother, Brother-Thad Furr of Albemarle, N.C. Grandchildren, Karma Wilson, Andi Johnson, Bill Parrish, Kelly Furr, Tracey Furr and great grandchildren, Kaytie, Holly, Shadow, Dalton. Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Albemarle, P. O. Box 7, Albemarle, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, May 6, 2007. Funeral service will be at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel at 11:00 AM Monday, May 7, 2007 , Rev. Nick Rochester officiating. Interment will be at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in New London, N.C. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, Hwy 740, New London, NC 28127 and Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St. Albemarle, NC 28001
