Death
Furr Funeral Held Monday. Final rites for Mrs. Carrie Byrd Furr, 77, of Route 1, Albemarle, were conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in West Albemarle Baptist Church, wehre she was a member, by Rev. Edgar Whitlock and Rev. C. R. Hinton. Mrs. Furr died Saturday morning at her home. She is survived by four sons, Belvin W. Furr, Marvin D. Furr, and Thaddeus A. Furr, all of Albemarle, and Rayvon Furr of New London; two daughters, Mrs. J. D. Morton of Fayetteville and Mrs. Roy Brantley of San Bernardino, California; one step-daughter, Mrs. Gladys Gobble of Albemarle; three sisters, Mrs. W. Tom Hold of New London and Mrs. Jerome Austin and Mrs. Bertie Gibson of Albemarle; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Martha Harris Byrd of Montgomery County and was born July 4, 1893. Her husband, Prince O. Furr, preceded her in death. Pallbearers were Alex Furr, Captain Ken Furr, Tommy Furr, Johnny Furr, Tim Morton and Rodney Brantley. Burial was in Fairview Memorial Park.Endnotes
