Death
Arthur C. Furr, 72, 4004 Warrington Ave., Escatawpa, died Monday, April 9, 1990, in Pascagoula. Mr. Furr was born Jan. 22, 1918, in Pearl River County and had lived in Jackson County for 25 years. He was a retired painter for Ingalls Shipbuilding. Mr. Furr was a member of Escatawpa United Methodist Church and served in the Layman’s Ministry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Bernice G. Furr, who died in January. Survivors include two daughters, Melora Lee of Pearl and Awana Black of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Ella Mae Downes of Picayune; two brothers, Robert E. Furr of New Orleans and Tommy Furr of Escatawpa; and one grandson. The funeral will be held today at 10 at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, with burial in Union Cemetery.The Sun Herald, Biloxi, Mississippi, April 11, 1990
