Death
Floyd D. Furr, 58 year-old-printer who has worked for news papers in Picayune, New Orleans and Houston, Texas, died at 5:20 a. m, Wednesday in Crosby Memorial Hospital in Picayune after being a patient there for about a week. Funeral services were conducted from the New Palestine Baptist Church at 2:30 p. m. today. Burial was in the Palestine cemetery. The Rev. Hoyte Nelson officiated. McDonald Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Furr had worked on the Picayune-Item at Picayune, the Times-Picayune in New Orleans and for a printing firm in Houston, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ava Smith Furr; two children, Mrs. William F. Rellstab of New Orleans and Floyd H. Fur of Conroe, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Kennedy of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Lilla White of Brookhaven; and five brothers, Rev. A. C. Furr of Columbus, Clifton Furr and Ernest Furr of Picayune, James Furr of Pascagoula, and Jess R. Furr of Hattiesburg.The Weekly Democrat, Poplarville, Mississippi, January 29, 1959
