Death
PICAYUNE — Mrs. Julia Ava Smith Furr, 91, died Monday, Jan. 15, 1996, in Picayune. Mrs. Furr was a native of Newton County and a homemaker. She was a member of New Palestine Baptist Church in Picayune. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd D. Furr; a daughter, Trudy Rellstab; and a sister, Annie Kate Thigpen. Survivors include a son, Floyd H. Furr of Picayune; two sisters, Grace Russ of Picayune and Yvonne Crawford of Vicksburg; a brother, Edward Smith of Picayune; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune. A service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Palestine Baptist Church, where friends may call an hour before service time.
