Death
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnnie Speed Furr, 72, were held at 2 p.m. today in Brookhaven Funeral Home chapel. Mrs. Furr, widow of R.D. Furr, died at 8:15 p.m. Saturday in a Brookhaven hospital. She was born May 20, 1896, in Copiah County, the daughter of the late John and Annie A. Patrick Speed. She was a member of the Wesson Presbyterian Church. Survivors include three sons, Scott Furr, Magnolia, Fred and Troy Furr, both of Wesson; one sister, Mrs. F. D. Hemphill, Jackson; two brothers, James and Clifton Speed, both of Wesson; five grandchildren and one great- grandchild. Rev. Frank M. McCraver officiated. Burial was in Little Behala Baptist Church cemetery with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.Enterprise-Journal, McComb, Mississippi, October 14, 1968
