Death
Herman P. Furr died at 9 o'clock Thursday morning at the family residence, 2260 North College Street. He would have been thirty-five years old November. He had been ill for the last two years, suffering from lung trouble, and for the last nine weeks had been confined to his bed. Mr. Furr was born in Claibourne County, Miss., Nov. 2, 1890. He had resided in Decatur for the last thirteen years. He and Miss Dora Adams of Decatur were married Dec. 28, 1910. He is survived by his wife and three children, Thelma, Odella and Johann Furr. He also leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Furr of Hollandale, and four sisters, Miss Ethel Furr and Mrs. Bonnie Conn of Jackson, Miss., Mrs. Eunice Jones of Crichton, La., and Mrs. Iva Bates of Hollandale, Miss. He was the oldest of nine children. Before his illness he was in charge of the laundry department at the Decatur and Macon County hospital. He was a member of the Second United Brethren Church. The body was removed to the Brintlinger & Sons undertaking establishment and prepared for burial.Endnotes
