Individual Details
Dr Thomas DELANO
(By 1639 - 13 Apr 1723)
Thomas married Rebecca Alden in 1667. They seem to have gotten a head start, though, because the town records reveal: "Thomas Delanoy, and his now wife, for committing carnal copulation before marriage, fined" at October Court, 1667" [PCR 8:122].
Some researchers have claimed that Thomas Delano married Mary Alden and question the existence of Rebecca. A lengthy explanation of why that is incorrect appears in Mayflower Descendants, Alden, pp 48-51.
Thomas and Rebecca had 9 children until Rebecca’s death, sometime before Sep 1688. He died sometime between the date of his will and its inventory, October 1722 through April 1723. He is buried at the Myles Standish Burying Ground in Duxbury.
