Nancy Ann Kehlor

(21 Dec 1928 - 21 Aug 1978)

Nancy was a single child and was spoiled as best she could be being a depression baby. She was a daddy's girl, and loved to hunt and fish with daddy. She loved to ride horses and on a freak event was bucked off a horse landing on her tailbone and fracturing her TAILBONE to such an extent, she was kept home a year while it healed. Being home schooled was not a problem as she was very bright and learning was easy for her. She attended UCLA and had many new friends that were kept throughout her life. Her husband was one of the boys who were also cooing girls at UCLA.. All were in love and married shortly after college. Nancy majored in sociology and worked for many years for the government as a social case worker. That was perfect for her, as she enjoyed helping, but also being a rescuer. The family expanded and needing a better home, and a safer on then in the Watts area if LA, she and her husband moved to up and coming suburb of Orange County. She found a job working for a local college as an administrator, and pulled in many of her friends to help with servicing college kids.

Nancy died of a somewhat self induced drowning while relaxing in a hot tub. She had been out enjoying the fall boat parade in Newport, and had been drinking and dining with friends at their home all day. As they were all getting out to change for dinner inside, she stayed behind a few more minutes to continue to relax and enjoy the spa. She was deemed to have fallen asleep, and slid under the water. Her husband, Gene said she rose in a gasp and then just collapsed. They ran out to pull her from the water, once they saw she was in distress, but it was too late to revive her. She was cremated and buried at sea by the Neptune Society as per her wishes off Newport.
