Individual Details

Hugh Spear Kehlor

(13 Jun 1892 - 17 Jan 1964)

Hugh was a contractor after the depression, and he and his wife built two homes in Pasadena California. He had hopes of selling both but one owner could not continue to make the payments so Hugh and his wife moved back in. Thanks to the wealth of his Aunt (Cora Lutz Haven), he was able to keep his home as Americans worked their way out of the great depression. Hugh loved to hunt and fish and did so with his daughter Nancy.

He won a silver medal in the Long Beach Summer Olympics for outboard motor boating / hydro-planing.

He was present when his father died. While Hugh and his dad were hunting in a duck blind, his father passing of a heart attack. Strangely enough, Johns wife kept his body over the Christmas holiday?

In Hugh's latter years, he succumbed to lung failure caused by accidental breathing spray paint while fixing a house.
