John Harmon

(Ca 1794 - 1838)

John married Ann Walker, 18 Sep 1814, Livingston Co, KY.

From Richard Davis:
John Harmon was listed as age 10 to 16 in the 1810 census (born 1794 to 1800). In the 1820 census at Monroe County, Mississippi he was listed as age 18-26 (born 1794-1802) and occasionally about/absent. In the 1815 Livingston County tax records Valentine Harmon was taxed under age 21 (born after 1794/1795) next to John Harmon over age 21 (b. 1794 or before) and each had 50 acres and two horses. In the 1816 tax list for Livingston County, John Harmon was the only one taxed and he now had 100 acres and he was over age 21. It looks like John ended up with Valentine's 50 acres.

John Harmon married Anna Walker on 18 Sep 1814 at Livingston County with bondsman William P. Thompson (this is Boling's brother). John named a son William P. Harmon, which I suppose was named after William Perkins Thompson who was the bondsman. John died in 1838 in Livingston County. Here are his estate records;

On 9 Aug 1847 William Cannedy was appointed to the minor children of John Harmon; Altazara, John E., Helen and Melissa W. Harmon.

I know eight of his children. John's oldest child was James H. Harman who you see at the estate sale in 1838. Also at the estate were John's widow Ann, his probable oldest daughter Anna, his brother Samuel and Samuel's son Henry Harmon. I am not sure who the A. M. Harman, but it may be the same person as A. Harman or Anna Harman.
