Simon Clement departed this life early in the year 1838. Will admitted to probate at May session of Court. His surviving widow, Nancy, who has intermarried with John Bumpass. They are petitioners as are Samuel H. Clement, Mary F. Veasey, formerly Mary F. Clement who intermarried with Andrew Veasey, William A. Clement & Susan S. Clement, his only children, all of whom are under the age of 21 years and to whom John C. Rogers hath been appointed Guardian by Person Co Court.where they all reside.
Died possessed of one tract of land in Granville Co, both sides of Rud Creek, adj lands of John Hampton , Edward Jones…350 acres. The widow by end of her widowhood became entitled to one third. Land has not been divided. Sale would be in the interest of all parties. Small size of the tract; there is also a sawmill and timber for lumber which would enhance the price of the whole tract. Petitioners ask for sale of the tract.
