Napoleon Adelard RABOIN
(15 Apr 1895 - 7 Mar 1967)
This story appears in the Ironwood Daily Globe on 13 July 1929 (Ancestry image 2):
PLEA FOR LENIENCY
Menominee -- A plea for leniency by his wife, who brought four men with her to provide a bond, kept Napoleon Raboin, of Daggett, Wednesday, from serving a term of one to three years in the Marquette branch prison. Raboin already had been sentenced when his wife and the bondsmen appeared. The sentence was suspended following Mrs. Raboin's plea, and Raboin was released on a bond which provides that he must pay $50 monthly toward the support of his family. Raboin had abandoned his wife and their eight children for six months.
This story helps to explain why Napoleon was not living with his family at the time of the 1930 Census. He and Agnes apparently worked things out, as he was definitely living with them at the time of the 1940 Census, and they had several more children in the intervening years.
