Olivine DUCHEMIN
(2 Jun 1837 - 1 Apr 1908)
1900 Census indicates that she had borne 12 children, only six of whom were still living.
Obituary from the Menominee County Journal, 4 April 1908:
Mrs. Olivina Boucher of Marinette died Wednesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest LaComb, after a long illness with diabetes. She was born in Three Rivers, Canada, on June 10, 1830, and came to the states thirty-seven years ago, residing in Marinette most of this time. She is survived by three sons, Joseph Bush of Escanaba, Col. Henry Bush of Philipsburg, Mont., and George Bush of Kalispell, Mont., and three daughters, Mrs. E. LaComb of Daggett, Mrs. Leon LeBlanc of Marinette, and Mrs. Amie LeBlanc of Sturgeon Falls, Canada. The remains were taken to Marinette on Thursday evening and the funeral was said this morning with a Requiem Mass at St. Joseph’s Church.
Doris Raboin Larson showed me a note written by Vina Gagnon Raboin, dated 24 Nov 1955 and attached to a rosary. It reads: "Grandma's rosary was given to her as a First Communion gift by Monseigneur LaGleche (?) at Three Rivers, when she was 12 years old. Grandma died at the age of 77 years. That is 40 years ago. The rosary is 110 years old." Doris added in 1988, "The Grandma, in this case, was my Great-Grandma, my father's Grandma." I believe this must refer to Olivine Duchemin, who was indeed both the grandmother of Viny and the step-great-grandmother of Doris. Her obituary lists her age at death as 77, although she was in fact just short of 71.
IGI lists birthyear as about 1835.

Residence (family)
1885 Wisconsin State Census: Joseph Bush. Household was composed of six males and five females. ( I have a photocopy of this record, with no film number. Must have found it early in my research. Legal-size copy. Can't find the same image in online version.)Another listing for a Joseph Bush, also in Marinette, shows 2 males and 3 females: one born in the United States and the other four in British North America. Which is the right Joseph Bush?

Residence (family)
Listed as "boarding" in the home of Joseph Bush were the following: J. H. Boucher, Miss Delia Bush, and Miss Libbie Bush. I would assume that "J. H. Boucher" refers to Joseph Honoré, but I am surprised that he uses the "Boucher" surname. Might this actually refer to the father? And which of the daughters was called "Libbie?' I don't have another record of a daughter called by that name. Would it have been Olvina? She would have been 14 years old at the time.Residence
1899-1900 City Directory indicates that she was boarding with Annie N. Gagnon (wid Louis)Census
