According to the 1910 Census, Maria was full-blooded Menominee Indian, and Gregoire was three quarters white and one quarter negro. However, the other records I have found, such as the 1900 Census, list both of them as caucasian.

Enumerated with this family were Gregware Ducharme, age 63, a gardener; his wife, Maria M, age 48; and children: Elsie L, age 23, a school teacher; and Roy G, age 13. Gregware and Maria had been married for 24 years. She had had two children, and both of them were still living.
