Louis Philippe SOLOMON
(20 Sep 1866 - Feb 1913)
Louis Solomon who died from the effects of an operation at a
hospital here, was laid at rest Monday morning in Allouez Cemetery.
Funeral services were conducted at St John's church be Rev. L.A.
Ricklin. Members of the Loyal Order of Moose attended the funeral
in a body. Mr Solomon was about 47 years he was identified with
the Federated Trades Council as a delegate from the Brewers Union.
Mr Solomon was well liked by all who knew him on account of
his sterling honesty and his quiet unassuming ways. He is survived
by his wife and several children, who have the deep sympathy of the
community in their great bereavement.
After his death, several of Louis's children were sent to Mooseheart, a home in Kane County, Illinois, established for the children of deceased members of the Loyal Order of Moose. The 1920 Census shows Earl (age 19), Louis (age 12), Elinore (age 17), Muriel (age 16) and Paulina (age 15), all living as wards of Mooseheart.
