Regina Rose "Jennie" VINCENT
(6 Oct 1879 - 23 Jul 1941)
The 1900 Federal Census indicates that she was born in July of 1879. The records of St-Jacques-le-Majeur in Montreal show a child born to this family on 6 Oct 1879, and baptized with the name "Rose de Lima Alba Vincent". Up until now, I have listed these two individuals separately, even though they could not have been born so close together. Now I have found that her death certificate does indeed give her birthdate as 6 Oct 1879. The "two" girls are one and the same. (noted on 31 Mar 2011)
Moved to Chicago in early 1920's.
Death and burial info from "Illinois Deaths and Stillbirths, 1916-1947" (digitized on Familysearch website). This record also gives the middle names of Regina and Harry. It refers to Regina as a retired seamstress, and states that she had been resident in Chicago for three years (? -- did she move away for a year or two?).
Checked Menominee County Birth Record Index (FHL #1017364) for children born to this couple. Only McGOWAN record is for Claude McGOWAN, in Vol. I or J, p. 60, but I don't have access to this volume. I did find Claude in the 1910 and 1930 censuses, as well as a death record from California.
The 1930 Census shows Regina and Harry living in an apartment at 530 Arlington Place in Chicago. This would have been directly across the street from where George and Grace Vincent were living as of the 1920 Census.
