Funeral services for Jonathan Clinton Clark, 75, who died at his home in Houlka Thursday evening, were held from the Houlka Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Mr. Furr of Vardaman, the Rev. Crawford Ray, the Rev. J B Shelton, and the Rev. Arthur Leslie, officiated at the services. Interment was in Wesley Chapel cemetery, with Hill Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Clark, a retired and well known farmer, was born in Chickasaw County and made this county his lifetime residence. He was a member of George's Chapel Methodist Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Leona Kirkpatrick Clark, of Houlka; seven daughters, Mrs. Ethel Bray, Mrs. Allie Hamblin, and Mrs. Mabel Funderburk, of Houlka; Mrs. Ernest Turman, of Thorn; Mrs. Flora Pennington, of Memphis, and Mrs. Joe Daniels of West Point; he also leaves six sons, Chilton Clark of Pittsboro; Jim Clark, Crenshaw; Steve and Vernon Clark of Los Angeles, Calif.; Boyd Clark of Fort Benning, Ga., and Herman Clark of Houlka. He also leaves two sisters and one brother. Pallbearers were great nephews of the deceased: John Clark, Byron Clark, Rad Clark, Billy Clark, Virt Clark, Dwight Clark, Haskel Walters, and W D Mooneyham.
