The State Journal-Register, Springfield, Illinois, Tuesday, October 4, 2005: Bird Township---Jerrylee Mabus, 74, of Bird Township died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at Carlinville Area Hospital. He was born Aug. 2, 1931, in Tamaroa, the son of Glen and Ruby Merkel Mabus. He married Rebecca "Becky" J. Hart in 1952 in Carlinville. A son, Chris Mabus, preceded him in death. Mr. Mabus graduated from Carlinville High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany. He was a farmer and trucker for many years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville and a former board member of the Macoupin County Farm Bureau. Survivors: wife, Becky; daughter, Cheri (husband, Rick) Frizzo of Raymond; brother, Merrill (wife, Celeste) Mabus of Chesterfield; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 10 a.m. today, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Carlinville, the Rev. Chad Carty officiating. Burial: Charity Cemetery, near Carlinville. Heinz Funeral Home in Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
