CARLINVILLE - On Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at 2:10 p.m., Rebecca Jane Mabus of Carlinville was taken home by her Heavenly Father. Becky was born in Greenfield, one of 10 children born to the late Frederick Douglas and Helen H. (Adcock) Hart. She married Jerry Lee Edward Mabus on Jan. 19, 1952, in Carlinville, and they shared 53 years together before his death on Oct. 1, 2005. Becky attended school in Gillespie. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked alongside her husband on the farm and took care of the bookkeeping for the farm and trucking business that they shared. She dearly loved the Lord and was saved on Aug. 26, 1956. Becky was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church till her death. Becky enjoyed reading her Bible, teaching Sunday school and enjoyed Christian radio that played 24 hours a day at her home. Becky was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; only son, Chris Lee Mabus in 2003; grandson, Clinton Douglas Stout in 2002; her four brothers, Homer, Frank, Dale and Kenneth Hart; and two sisters, Doris Meng and Irma Lee Hammann. She is survived by a daughter, Cheri Mabus-Frizzo and husband, Rick Frizzo of Raymond; two brothers, Dean (wife, Charlene) Hart of Jerseyville, Carol (wife, Peggy) Hart of Carlinville; sister, Bunnie Davis of Carlinville; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at Heinz Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville with the Rev. Chad Ozee officiating. Burial at Charity Baptist Cemetery.
