Register-News, Mount Vernon, Illinois, Friday, September 19, 2008: Corinne VanHoorebeke, 87, of Sesser, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at her home. She was born in Sesser on Jan. 22, 1921, a daughter of Ozzie Jack and Beulah Mae (Browning) Kirkpatrick. She married Loyd VanHoorebeke on June 14, 1942; he preceded her in death on July 19, 2006. She was a homemaker. Corinne was a member of the Sesser Seeders and Weeders Garden Club and a member of the First Christian Church in Sesser. She is survived by children, Kala Bailey and husband James of Libertyville, Lorraine VanHoorebeke of Mesa, Ariz., and Dennis VanHoorebeke and wife Nancy of Gurney; grandchildren, Megan VanHoorbeke and Beth Bailey; and brothers, Jack Kirkpatrick of Las Vegas and William Kirkpatrick of Beatrice, Neb. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser with the Rev. Kurt Packer officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser. The body will lie in state at the funeral after 6 p.m. tonight.
