Southern Illinoisan, Carbondale, Illinois, Wednesday, December 28, 2011: Sesser-- Grace Mae Mabus Lemons, 96, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, in Franklin Hospital in Benton. She was born in Perry County to August Leonard Mabus and Flossie Mae (Kirkpatrick) Mabus. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her children, Constance "Connie" and Cletus McBride of Sesser, Judith "Judy" Elaine Scott of Sesser, Jerry Leonard and Margaret Lemons of Du Quoin, Brenda Faye and Joe Arriaga of Cullman, Ala.; grandchildren, Cletus Eric McBride, Lisa Marie Travelstead, Michael Thomas Rasnic, Raymond Lee Scott, Arthur Eugene Lemons, Sarah Lynn Wisely and Kelley Jean Owens; and sister, Lorraine Biyjak of Scottsdale, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Stewart Lemons; four brothers; and three sisters. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, in Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
