He was a graduate of Dodgeville public schools, and a Chicago business college. While in Chicago he worked for Marshall Fields. In 1901 he began working at Strong's Bank in Dodgeville. On Nov. 21, 1912, he married Katherine Kirkpatrick in Dodgeville, where they lived until moving to Stoughton in 1965. In 1951 he was recognized for 50 years of service by the Wisconsin State Banking Association. He served as bank president and retired in 1956 after 55 years. Up until his death he served as honorary vice-president. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dodgeville. Survivors include his wife, Katherine; a son, Kirk, Dodgeville; two daughter, Mrs. I. C. Collins, Dodgeville, and Mrs. Carl Felly, Madison; six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the McGinley Funeral Home, Dodgeville, at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 28 , the Rev. Billy Bross officiating. Burial in Eastside Cemetery, Dodgeville. Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, at the funeral home.
