Mount Pleasant News, Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Thursday, November 5, 1931, Front Page, Col. 7: Laura Kirkpatrick Rites Saturday. The remains of Mrs. Laura Kirkpatrick, 67 years old, who passed away suddenly at her home in Juniata, Nebr., Sunday evening at 10:30 following a stroke of apoplexy, arrived here this afternoon on No. 6 [train] and funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 at Pleasant Hill chapel in charge of Rev. F. F. Weston. The Kirkpatrick family resided for a number of years in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood and from 1911 to 1914 lived in this city, later they moved to New London and from there to Nebraska. Mrs. Kirkpatrick is survived by two sons and a daughter, and several grandchildren.
