William Iverson Kirkpatrick

William Iverson Kirkpatrick was born 8 March 1860 and died 14 April 1933. He married on 19 March 1890, Martha Ann Kizziah Hafner, daughter of Marcus and Mary (McDonald) Hafner, who was born 25 February 1868 and died 30 January 1944. Both are buried in Union Cemetery, Richburg, Chester County, South Carolina.
There were seven (7) children born of the marriage.

Chester, April 16---The funeral services of William Iveson* Kirkpatrick, 73, well known farmer of the Bascomville section of eastern Chester county, who died Friday at his home, were conducted from the Richburg Methodist church Saturday afternoon, with the pastor, the Rev. Mr. Smith, officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. M. Forbis, pastor of the Great Falls Presbyterian church, and the Rev. Mr. Hatchl, pastor of the Fort Lawn Methodist church. Burial was in the Union Associate Reformed Presbyterian church graveyard at Richburg. Mr. Kirkpatrick had spent his life in agricultural pursuits. He was one of eastern Chester county's prominent and esteemed citizens. He was always interested religious, civic and educational causes and in all worthy movements. He had served as a steward in his church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Kizzie Hafner Kirkpatrick, and by five sons and by two daughters as follows: Fred Kirkpatrick, Great Falls; Marion Kirkpatrick, Taylorsville, N. C.; Clarence Kirkpatrick, Salisbury, N. C.; Wilbur Kirkpatrick and Charlton Kirkpatrick, Bascomville; two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Ashe, McConnellsville; Mrs. John Samuel Brogand. Also; two brothers, J. H. Kirkpatrick, Fort Lawn; Davis Kirkpatrick, Bascomville; one sister Mrs. John D. Sanders, Chester. The stewards of the Richburg church acted as honorary pallbearers, while his nephews were the active pallbearers.
