Catherine Serena Kirkpatrick

Catherine Kirkpatrick was born 17 September 1843 or 17 July 1844 (both dates are given in varying sources) in Adams County, Illinois, and died 27 March 1887 in Adams County. She married, as his second wife, on 11 November 1869, at Camp Point, Adams County, Illinois, William Jasper White, who was born 19 December 1841 in Adams County, Illinois, and died 7 August 1916 in Chillicothe, Missouri.

William served as a corporal in the Civil War in Company G, 78th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. Shortly after his return from the war, William married Lucy Kirkpatrick, the daughter of Caterine's cousin, Thomas Lane Kirkpatrick. Shortly after their son Frederick Lane White was born, Lucy died of Tuberculosis. When she was near death she expressed to Catherine her hope that she would marry Willaim, as she was concerned for the future of her baby. In due course, Catherine and William were married. Cahterine was a schoolteacher.

There were six (6) children born of this marriage.
