Omaha Daily Bee, Omaha, Nebraska, May 9, 1909, Page 3, Col. 5: North Platte---Mrs., John Houk died here this morning, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Walter Ross in the Third Ward. She leaves a baby girl born on Wednesday. Her home is at Paxton. The body will be shipped to Cozad tomorrow for burial at the home of her parents.

, North Platte, Nebraska, May 11, 1909: Mrs. John Houk, whose home is nine miles south of Paxton, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Walter Ross, in this city early Friday morning. Death came after an illness of three days. Funeral services were held at the Ross residence Friday evening conducted by Rev. Favoright of the Baptist church and the remains were taken to Cozad Saturday for interment. Besides a large number of friends who mourn her sad death, Mrs. Houk leaves a husband and infant daughter, a father, mother and six sisters.
