Francis Glenn Kirkpatrick

Francis Glenn Kirkpatrick, the fifth child of Hobart E. and Anna (McCracken) Kirkpatrick, was born 14 February 1899 in Dawson County, Nebraska. He died 5 January 1979. He lived most of his life in the Overton, Dawson County, Nebraska area, where he farmed. He married Nona W. Peterson, 14 February 1923. He was a veteran of World War I and was active for many years in the American Legion. He was a member of the Legion's "40 et 8". He was a Mason and a Methodist.
There were three (3) children born of the marriage.
On the 1930 U. S. Census of Westside, Phelps Co. Nebraska, Glen F. Kirkpatrick appears with his wife Nona and children Rodney and Lois. Glen's occupation is farmer.

Glenn Kirkpatrick, 80, of Overton died Tuesday afternoon at the Tri-County Hospital in Lexington. He had been in failing health for some time. Services were held Friday afternoon at the United Methodist Church in Overton with Pastor Larry Ramsey officiating. Interment was in the Overton Cemetery with Military and Masonic rites at graveside. Pallbearers were Alwyn Johnson, Bud Johnson, Joel Schleiger, Fred Dickson, Frank Gamble and Russell Warren.
He was born in Dawson County, Feb. 14, 1899, to Hobert and Anna M. McCracken Kirkpatrick, and was a lifetime resident of the Overton area. He was a longtime farmer in the Overton community and a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his widow, Nona Peterson Kirkpatrick, now a resident of Westside Home in Lexington; one son, Rodney Kirkpatrick, Fort Worth, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Vala, Omaha, and Mrs. Alyce Nelson, Kansas City, Mo.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
