The funeral of Mrs. Nellie Showalter, 68, who died in Spokane at the Deaconess Hospital last Monday of heart trouble, was held at the Methodist Church in Davenport Wed. afternoon, the Rev Mr. VanWinkle, of Spokane, officiating. Following the service the body was brought to the Harrington Cemetery where it was laid to rest beside the body of her husband who was buried there some years ago. Mrs. Showalter was born in Iowa and when a small child moved with her parents to Nebraska. She taught school in Nebraska and also a few terms in this county after the folks moved here in 1890, when they settled in Davenport. In 1893 she married and is the mother of one child, a daughter, who survives her. Her husband died at Downs in 1916 and since that time she has made her home at Davenport until two years ago when she moved to Spokane. She is survived by her daughter, one sister, Mrs. Stella Carson of Freewater, OR; and 3 brothers, W. T. Burge, The Dalles, OR; J. H. Burge, Harrington; and F. S. Burge of Downs.
