Frederick "Fred" Stanton Burge

Spokane Daily Chronicle, Spokane, Washington, Tuesday, May 4, 1948, Page 3, Col. 6: Davenport, Wash., May 4---Funeral services were held at the Methodist church here today, with the Rev. J. D. King officiating and the Bumgarner funeral home in charge, for Fred S. Burge, 76, who died Sunday following an extended illness. Interment was in Mountain View cemetery. Mr. Burge was born in Stanton, Iowa, and came west to this part of Lincoln county in 1888. Later he farmed near Mohler for many years and, after retiring, moved to Davenport to resides for the last 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Burge, at the home in Davenport; a son, Clyde Burge who farmer northwest of Davenport; a daughter, Mrs. Henry Vick, Harrington, and three grandchildren.
