Chauncey M. Kirkpatrick was born 13 April 1887 and died 23 May 1968 at Gothenburg, Nebraska. He married Isabella Brown, circa 1907 at Gothenburg. She was born 9 October 1889 and died 3 August 1956 in Gothenburg.

Kirkpatrick passed away early Thursday at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital. Born at Monroe, Iowa, on April 13, 1887, he was the son of Joseph Frances and Olive McCracken Kirkpatrick.

At the age of two, he came with his family to Dawson county and e spent his entire life in this area. On Feb. 14, 1912, he married Isabel Brown at Elmwood and she preceded him in death in August of 1956 after almost 30 years of invalidism.

Chauncey Kirkpatrick was a 56-year member of the Methodist Church, and a member of the I.O.O.F. in Lexington. He worked for some years as a farmer, later as an automobile salesman, and then began the Kirkpatrick Sand & Gravel Co. In his later years, after turning over the main part of the business to his son, Wayne, he became interested in horsemanship. A Great amount of his time, however, was spent in caring for his invalid wife. He and was kind and patient man.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph of Ogallala and Wayne of Gothenburg, a daughter Twila Belle Ray of Elsinore, Calif.; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Fern Keys of Denver, Colo.; and his many friends.

Services were held Saturday afternoon in the McVay Chapel with Rev. John Mikelsen of the First Methodist Church officiating. Music was by Mrs. Harry Ostergard. Pallbearers were John Ballmer, Kermit Duis, David Mann, Dennis Ballmer, Clifford Duis and William Preitauer. Interment was in Gothenburg Cemetery.
