Blue Hill Leader, Blue Hill, Nebraska, February 16, 1994, Page 1, Cols. 1-2: Blanche M. Stevens, 88 of Blue Hill, Nebraska, died Thursday February 10, 1994, at the Community Care Center in Blue Hill. Mrs. Stevens was born April 11, 1905, in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Louis and Bertha (Kirkpatrick) Klein.
On September 27, 1922 she married Harvey Stevens in Callaway, Nebraska. They farmed near Blue Hill and Red cloud until Mr. Stevens died in 1953. She moved to Sterling, Colorado, where she worked as a licensed practical nurse. She also worked as an LPN in North Platte and Cozad. She retired in 1969, and returned to Blue Hill.
She was an active member of the Blue Hill United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and other community organizations.
She was preceded in death by a son, Carrol; a daughter, Marilyn; 2 brothers, Elmer and Wayne Klein; and a grandson, Tim Stevens. She is survived by two sons, Wendel of Blue Hill and Ronald of Bellevue, Nebraska; one daughter, Artis Ramey of Tempe, Arizona; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Blue Hill United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 12, with the Rev. Baldeo Singh officiating. Alvin Willemans was organist and Evart Barton was soloist. He sang "Amazing Grace" and "Abide With Me." The Congregation sant "The Old Rugged cross" and "In The Garden."
Pallbearers were Pat Stevens, Jeff Stevens, Bruce Gerloff, Mike Horak, Wayne Mc Clure and Gayle McClure. Interment was at the Blue Hill Cemetery with Merton-Butler Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
