New Castle News, New Castle, Pennsylvania, Tuesday, June 6, 1950, Page 2, Col. 4: Mrs. Howard M. Kirk, nee Elizabeth Raney, aged 75 years, 403 East Moody avenue, died today at 3 a.m. in the Jameson Memorial hospital.
Born February 13, 1875, in New Castle, she was a daughter of Leander and Hannah Mahon Raney. Mrs. Kirk, a graduate of Pennsylvania College for Women, had been a member of First Presbyterian church for her lifetime.
Survivors are: her husband, Howard N. [M] Kirk, whom she married June 29, 1899; five children, Mrs. Helen K. McAfee, Newark, N. J.; Dr. Elizabeth K, Rose., Philadelphia; Leander R. Kirk, Plainfield, N. J.; Rev. William H. Kirk, New York, N.Y., and Howard M. Kirk, Jr., New Castle; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Dr. Robert F. Galbreath will officiate at funeral services Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the late residence, 403 East Moody avenue, where friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
