Posted at findagrave.com: William Jerry Pilyer, age 78, of Florence, Ky. died Friday at Hospice of St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Ky. He was a road driver for Roadway Express for more than 25 years where he received several safety awards including a 2 million safe mile award. He was an Air Force veteran, a member of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and the association's men's off hand national champion in 1973. Survivors include his wife, Lois Koenig Pilyer; son William Troy Pilyer of Union, Ky.; three grandchildren and one-great grandchild. Services were held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence, Ky. Burial was in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Ky.
