Posted at findagrave.com: Marvin Garrett, age 81 of Greenville, SC, died Friday June 12, 2009. Mr. Garrett was a native of Lexington, KY and a former resident of Pensacola. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Garrett was a longtime member of Escambia Lodge #15 where he was Past Master of the Lodge and was a Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Florida Grand Lodge. He was retired from Monsanto Corp. as a foreman, with 32 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served with the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jeanette Garrett; three daughters, Donna Credeur (Dale Goneke), Merrie Garrett and Dixie Cartmell (Tony); five grandchildren, Michelle NeSmith (Greg), Amy McGowan (Wade), Kelly Fuchs, Trent Fuchs and Amanda Cartmell; two great grandchildren, Hunter and Ashlyn NeSmith; brother, Jerry Pilyer; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Graveside service at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at St. Johns Cemetery with Masonic Services at graveside. The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel funeral South from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16. Published in the Pensacola News Journal on 6/16/2009.
