The Kansas City Star, Kansas City, Missouri, Tuesday, October 11, 2005: Blanche E. Lewis, 87, of the Kansas City area, passed away Friday, October 7, 2005. A celebration of Blanche's life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 12 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park. Friends may visit Wednesday, at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Blanche was born and raised in Rich Hill, Missouri and was a lifelong Kansas City area resident. Her first husband Carson "Bill" Lewis preceded her in death. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and devoted husband of 15 years, Allen J. Johnson. Her daughter Donna Lewis Vermillion and her husband Robert, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild also survive her.
