Reno Gazette-Journal, Reno, Nevada, Saturday, April 12, 2003, Page 24: Marvin Bear, 64, a local businessman and resident of Reno, NV, the past 35 years, passed away peacefully at his home on April 1, 2003. Marvin grew up on a farm outside Butler, Missouri, leaving to move out west after college. He was former owner of Stephen's Jewelry in Sparks and had worked previously in the mobile home business. He had been in failing health and was very courageous. He is survived by three sisters and two brothers. A private family memorial service will be held in Butler, Missouri. In memory of Marv, contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
