The Nevada Daily Mail, Nevada, Missouri, Monday, November 14, 1983, Page 2, Col. 2: Alfred Nolan Bear, 87, lifelong resident of Rich Hill, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 1983, at his home. He was born March 30, 1896, in rural Rich Hill. He was the son of Leo and Rebecca Wine Bear. He was united in marriage to Delorous Morgan Scrogham on Nov. 1, 1981. He was a farmer and owner of the Bear Seed Company. Survivors include: his wife, Delorous, of the home; four sons, Clarence Bear, Euless, Texas, Ralph Bear, Shawnee, Kan., Marvin Bear, Reno, Nev., and Mike Bear, Rich Hill; five daughters, Edith Morrison and Beulah Gill, both of Rich Hill, Blanche Lewis, Kansas City, Dorothy Clarkson, Raytown, and Mary Ruth Vaughan, Arlington, Texas; a stepdaughter; three stepsons; 20 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1983, at the Booth-Flexsenbar Funeral Home, Rich Hill, with the Rev. Charles Rhodes officiating. The Mennonite Youth of the Bethany Mennonite Church will sing two numbers. June Yarick, organist, will play selected hymns. Pallbearers will be Archie Johnson, Major Johnson, Arthur Johnson, Jan Black, Mike Black and Lawrence Black. Interment will be in Double Branch Cemetery, northeast of Rich Hill. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 1883, at the funeral home in Rich Hill.
